September 25, 2008: Mario Frangoulis, internationally acclaimed tenor will perform at the Herod Atticus Amphitheatre in Athens with world-famous singer, Lara Fabian in a concert with two pianos and two voices. He will dedicate this concert and a portion of the proceeds to the World Centers of Compassion for Children International (WCCCI). Frangoulis has agreed to be the WCCCI “Global Ambassador for Peace” and this concert represents the official launch of a series of education and awareness efforts that will be spearheaded by Frangoulis on a global scale. September 27-28, 2008: WCCCI will be hosting a special event in the Region Basilicata on September 27-28, 2008 to focus on the plight of children worldwide with special attention to Iran, Burma, Tibet and refugees off the coast of Italy. The highlight of this event will be the blessing of the land by Mayan Spiritual Guides accompanied by Nobel Peace Laureate Rigoberta Menchu Tum, a representative of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and the Holy Father, Pope Benedict, as well as other major religious representatives.
October 30, 2008: Mario Frangoulis will be performing live in Boston, MA at the Cutler Majestic Theatre at Emerson College. It will be a very special evening, in which he will present an international repertoire of music in six languages, joined on stage by lyric soprano Kristen Watson and accompanied by pianist Theodore Economou and a chamber orchestra, conducted by Steve Karidoyanes. Since Frangoulis is the WCCCI official “Global Ambassador for Peace,” Betty Williams will be present to celebrate this evening with him. Frangoulis and Williams will be speaking in Boston about the WCCCI’s first “City of Peace” in Italy’s Basilicata Region, which will have just been formally launched one month prior.
Spring 2009: The 2nd “Mothers of the Earth for World Peace” Summit will be held in the Region Basilicata in Matera (exact dates pending for Spring 2009). Invited guests will include Nobel Peace Laureates and other dignitaries to celebrate and promote the first Center of Compassion for Children and to publicize this event on the global stage.
